Appearances also included Will it Blend, Chad Vader, Fred, some young professional sport stackers and of course, our very own Vlog Team (I believe they called it) Michael Buckley, William Sledd, Lisa Nova and Katers17. Tay Zonday (Chocolate Rain) acted as MC, and I thought he did a terrific job, he truly does have that special voice.
Fred and Sledd I could have done without. Now finally having heard Fred speak without the aide of audio editing, I now realize his voice is only slightly less annoying and perhaps one less note deeper in person, albeit, not by much.
I thought they did a pretty good job for the first live event and likely it will only improve in the years to come. Bo Burnham (happy to say I’ve met him) was most certainly the highlight for me and was best at representing the community at large.
You can watch the Youtube Live event by clicking here and searching Youtube for any tags related to “Youtube Live”. With a audience full of video makers who could all be seen watching the event live via the cameras in their hands, you can bet the rent that the clips will be rolling in shortly…
Here was my poor attempt at a joke, posted before the video:

Ben Hughes
John Lacey
RipFilms
The Cape Cod Cookie
Uncultured Project
They missed a bleep with Bo After he says SO COOL in the song he says ‘so fucking stupid’ W00T!!!

I’m so glad you said that. Personally I haven’t had much to do with Fred but I didn’t mind the video they played. But when the actor appeared as himself to say how much some random rapper was indebted to him and YouTube… I actually asked someone via Twitter if they’d throw a brick at him. lol
I loved Bo Burnham, Queen Rania and the mashups DJ Mike Relm did.
It pains me a little that it is yet another YouTube event I missed out on. Due to family obligations I can’t even attend the Sydney YouTube Gathering which is taking place this Saturday. I guess there’s always next year.
