Passion

Passion. Its what I wish I had about any one particular thing in my life, other than my family, of course. For years I’ve had a passion for all things social + internet, mainly Youtube, but even that hasn’t been tickling my fancy as of late. In the last two months I’ve logged in perhaps only a few times and only for a few minutes. I’m still involved in the community, don’t get me wrong, I just haven’t had anything hit me that was ‘make a video’ worthy and I’m somewhat against the ‘make a video about anything even if there’s nothing to say’ school of thought.

Photography. I love staring and mulling over beautiful and intriguing photography. Why not get into photography? I’ll tell you why, cameras are expensive and I’m not so sure I’d even have the patience nor the time to do anything that requires me to leave the house for lengths of time. I tend to be a home body. For now, I resolve to be an avid fan of beautiful photos. Stumbleupon has lead me to some fascinating photography sites.

Crocheting. Wait, how old are you? Yes, I’ve picked up the art of crocheting and have been at it for the last 2 months or so. Everyone in my family has a scarf wrapped tightly around their necks whether they want to or not – likely not. And crocheting has been loads of fun. I’m so happy to have picked up some craft, ANY craft that gives me an end product to embarrass my children with. Oh, kids, the sweaters are on their way as soon as I learn the proper stitches, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

I guess in the end there seems to be a lot of hobbies that I’m into, but my true desire is to find something that not only makes me happy, but also pays the bills. But then, isn’t that everyone’s dream?

Off topic, here’s an interesting video. This one was sent to me via David Milligan. Scary stuff!

Stumbleupon – A Websurfing Journey

// December 5th, 2009 // No Comments » // Featured Articles

Due to my recent lack of interest in sites I normally frequent, I’ve begun to use Stumbleupon. A fabulous site to cure your websurfing boredom. Stumbleupon enables users to have random websites generated for viewing based up on user preferences. Surfers can then ‘thumbs up’ or ‘thumbs down’ the website and stumble upon will remember your preferences. Subscribers to your stumble(s?) can see what you’ve favorited in the past.

Ive come across some super interesting sites, incredibly stunning photography, artistry that will make you weep and humorous videos and sayings that will make you laugh ’till your hearts content. Here is a small sampling of what I’ve found this week:

Sand Animation

Likely the most amazing thing I’ve seen in quite some time. If it weren’t for Stumbleupon, I likely wouldn’t have seen this talented artist, with such passion in her heart. Here is Kseniya Simonova’s “Sand Animation”, a 5 minute WW2 history of the Ukraine.

“The Adaption to My Generation”

JK Keller photographed himself daily from 1998 to 2006. Very similar to “Noah” which was an internet sensation and viral video a couple of years ago.

Camoflauge Artist

Liu Bolin Can you find him?
