Hate and Bigotry

Lately I’ve had trouble thinking of a new video idea, writers block if you will. But then my husband read me an article from the Cape Cod times, and I knew I had to say something. We were both horrified by a few of the incidents that were cited... Second and third grade students chanting “Assassinate Obama?” People in Maine placing bets for a buck on the how and when Obama will be assassinated?

And this isn’t just an issue of racism I speak of. I’m also just as disappointed in the State of California. In this day and age how a majority of people, even if fueled by scare tactics and lies (please click here for a very enlightening video) could vote to take away the right for two consenting, loving adults to marry is truly beyond me – and reeks of people wanting to stick their nose in the private lives of others. Potentially nullify nearly 18,000 marriages!? I was very happy to hear that Governor Schwarzenegger is hopeful the California Supreme Court will overturn the Prop 8.

I was very fortunate to have loving and caring parents who taught me not only the difference between right and wrong, but the difference between love and hate. I embrace the differences between us. What a boring place it would be if we were all the same. And this is what I also pass on to my children in the hopes they’ll teach their children and so on. But unfortunately, hate is grown in the same fashion…

I’m glad you felt it necessary to put yourself on a pedestal seeing as how you clearly must be the only person ever to not make a typo. You could have simply said, “By the way, did you realize you had a spelling error?” and at that point, I would have thanked you.

Govener????????? You spelt Schwarzenegger right, but Govener? Since when is Govener a word? Governor. English is not my language, and I know that.

I was shocked to read an article, “Editorial: Area refuses to accept slur” about an individual who described Obama with a racial epithet. Fortunately, his community condemned his attitude and actions.

I can’t believe what’s going on around the country with regards to Obama. It’s disgusting. It really shows the world how much of a backwater country the US is and how bigoted many still are here.

The Prop 8/102 voting disgusts me. I’m looking forward to these Props being found unconstitutional.
