Haiti – Watch, Read, Listen

The earthquake in Haiti is likely the most tragic, natural loss of life that any of us will see in our lifetimes.  After a 7.0 earthquake, the largest in the region in over 200 years, rocked the impoverished country, more than 100,000 people are feared dead. The exact numbers will never be known. People are being buried in mass graves never to be identified. By now you’ve read every article, seen every story, the faces of those in agony, those with heartache over the loss of loved ones or the fear of not knowing whether they survived. And if you haven’t, then read, turn on the television or the radio. You should be listening, you should hear the moans of mothers without children, or the images of children on the roadside, bandaged, but no one left to look after them. This isn’t simply another poor country with another tragedy, this is a human tragedy.  The child on the roadside looks like my daughter, the man searching for his wife is my husband, the boy who can’t find his sister is my son. I weep at the pain they feel.

Over 100 hours later survivors are still being pulled from the rubble. Make a video, Pray, Blog, Donate, be an activist, keep them in your thoughts, motivate others to do the same. Whatever your method is or you have the means to do, do it.

Here are some way’s you can help.
